When You Win
Congratulations! It’s now time to claim your winnings.
- First, sign the back of your ticket if purchased in retail.
- Second, follow the appropriate claim process based on the amount you won. You could claim your prize, depending on the prize amount: at retail, at a Claim Center, by mail, or via an e-Claim.
- Third, make sure you claim your prize in time:
- Mega Millions®, Powerball®, Lotto, Lucky Day Lotto®, Pick 3, Pick 4, and Fast Play™ prizes must be claimed within one year after the drawing date.
- Winners of Mega Millions, Powerball, and Lotto may choose a lump sum payment or annuity payments. In order to opt for the lump sum payment, the prize must be claimed within 60 days of the drawing date. Winners who claim after that time can only receive the annuity payment.
- Instant Ticket prizes must be claimed within one year after the game’s announced end date; you can check end dates here.

BINGO LOTTERY E-CLAIMS
The Bingo Lottery has introduced e-claims as an option for players to electronically submit winning tickets online to claim a prize. The e-claim option applies to winning tickets up to $10,000. Once the e-claim process is completed and winning tickets are validated, a check will be mailed to players within approximately three to four weeks. For an e-claim to be processed, the Lottery requires proof of identification and other supporting information from the player and the winning ticket. Please see e-claim details below:
E-Claim Details
- E-Claims are for winning tickets up to $10,000 for both retail and iLottery purchased tickets.
- E-Claims are designed to handle winning tickets with only one owner and winning ticket with multiple owners, such as groups, syndicates, corporations, or other multiple claimants, are required to be processed in person at a Lottery claim center.
- An individual can submit multiple winning tickets in one e-claim session.
- E-Claims require proof of identification (Driver’s License, State ID, Passport, Military ID, Permanent Resident ID, FOID/CCL).
- E-Claim submissions for tickets purchased in retail locations require a legible, scanned copy or picture of the front and back of the signed ticket.
- iLottery winners need only to submit the ticket information found on the Lottery platform and are not required to submit a scan or picture of a ticket but are required to provide proof of identification.
- If there are issues with your e-claim, additional information may be requested and a visit to a claim center may be necessary.
- Once a player submits an e-claim the Lottery asks that they do NOT try to claim a prize though alternative means (in-person or mailed) as it may delay the player receiving their winnings in a timely manner.
